VON ZIPPER TRIALS TO BEGIN AT 7.30am

Although it’s wet and wild the swell has risen over night and Jeffreys Bay, South Africa is shooting through its typical long winding walls right down the point.
Former Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tourer now big-wave legend, Contest Director Mike Parsons had no hesitation in giving the nod to sending out the three heats of the Von Zipper Trials, beginning at 7.30am local time and following on he will assess conditions and determine whether to run round one of the main event – the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay.
The area has been plagued by small waves over the past few days and competitors in the event have been eager for the famed righthander to come to life.
VZ Wildcard Trials feature six South Africans and six up-and-coming international stars.
The three heat winners if the Von Zipper Trials will be allocated places in the main draw.
