News provided by ASP World Tour on 18 September 2005
The final day of the Boost Mobile Pro Of Surf presented by Quiksilver is underway at Trestles, Southern California in near perfect one metre (three to four foot) plus conditions.
With a massive crowd building on the shoreline all are preparing to witness some of the best surfing action this season. Round four of the eighth event on the Foster's ASP Men's World Tour is already in the water with the opening heat of Taj Burrow (AUS) and Jake Paterson (AUS) proving to be sensational.
Organisers will complete the event today with the final hitting the water at around 4pm this afternoon. Also included in the schedule is the Foster’s Expression Session and a Celebrity Surf Challenge which will include Mark Philippoussis, Nick Zano (from the WB’s hit show What I like About You), Chris Shiflett (guitarist for Foo Fighters), Andrew Keegan (Ten Things I Hate About You), Stephen Colletti and Jason Wahler (both from MTV’s Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County) Lisa Marie (actress and muse to Bruce Webber) and more.
The celebrity surfers will be pitted against one another and the winner will receive a $US10,000 donation which will go to the charity of the their choice.
The Foster’s Expression Session meanwhile is an integral part of each event on the Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour as it allows the surfers to compete without the restrictions of time or a rigid judging criteria.
Surfers will win cash prizes in two categories – the biggest aerial manoeuvre and the best overall wave.
