BOOST MOBILE PRO ROUND TWO TO KICK OFF IN CLEAN CONDITIONS
News provided by ASP World Tour on 14 September 2005
Round two of the Boost Mobile Pro of Surf presented by Quiksilver is off and running in clean one-metre (three foot) conditions at Trestles in Southern California.
Organisers of the eighth event of the Foster’s Men’s World Tour had a hard time enticing freesurfers out of the water as the Trestles peak is offering some great rides.
Unlike most tour events, which are blessed with two week waiting periods and have the luxury of picking and choosing the days with the best conditions, the Boost Mobile Pro had to nominate its comp surfing days three months in advance due to local State Park regulations.
Luckily, however, organisers have “lucked it” with the waves today and a predicted overhead swell is expected to arrive by Friday.
Today’s round two is the first of the “sudden death” man-on-man rounds. The winners from this round progress through to round three to meet the winners of the round one who have been rewarded with the day off.
