With the swell building slightly overnight organisers of the Quiksilver Pro Japan have placed the event on standby and will reconvene at 10.30am local time to make a call regarding the continuation of the event.

After the completion of round one two days ago the event, the seventh on the Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour, could potentially be completed in three full days and organisers are making the most of the waiting period which extends to 7 September.

All are anticipating fireworks when competition resumes as the round two draw has some of the most exciting matchups seen on tour this year.

A Kelly Slater Celebrity Event, featuring some of Japan’s favourite celebrities, will take place at 12pm.
