EXPECT ACTION APLENTY AS QUIKSILVER PRO FRANCE ROUND FOUR BEGINS AT LA NORD
News provided by ASP World Tour on 30 September 2005
Heat one of round four of the Quiksilver Pro France presented by Samsung will begin at 8.45am local time, in very clean and hollow two metre (six foot) waves at La Nord, Hossegor.
The swell has evened out over night and the current in the water is not dragging like it has been in previous days and this will allow surfers to get better positioning when catching waves.
Potentially, today could be a milestone for the sport and the Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour, with the showdown for the 2005 title coming down to the wire.
By late this afternoon, not only will we be crowning the Quiksilver Pro France winner, but there is every chance we could also be crowning the 2005 Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour champion.
The title scenario sees Kelly Slater (USA) and Andy Irons (HAW) in first and second place respectively with Slater holding the upper hand. If he finishes equal to or better than Slater here today the trophy will be in his hands tonight.
The pressure therefore is well and truly on the young Hawaiian. If Irons finishes better than Slater here today the race will continue.
Get on line now to view the live action for this not to be missed day!
Round four draw:
Heat 1: Dane Reynolds (USA) vs Victor Ribas (BRA)
Heat 2: Luke Egan (AUS) vs Phil MacDonald (AUS)
Heat 3: Damien Hobgood (USA) vs Luke Stedman (AUS)
Heat 4: Paulo Moura (BRA) vs Kelly Slater (USA)
Heat 5: Andy Irons (HAW) vs Mark Occhilupo (AUS)
Heat 6: Cory Lopez (USA) vs Bruce Irons (HAW)
Heat 7: Taj Burrow (AUS) vs Peterson Rosa (BRA)
Heat 8: Nathan Hedge (USA) vs Jake Paterson (AUS)
