News provided by ASP World Tour on 25 September 2005

Organisers of the Quiksilver Pro France presented by Samsung have called a lay day for the main event but will look to hold the Foster’s Expression Session and the Kelly Slater Experiment at 3.30pm (local time).

With a lumpy one metre (two to three feet) swell hitting the banks at La Graviere, Hossegor, it was decided that conditions were not suitable to forge ahead with the remaining four heats of round one and round two but with a light offshore blowing, the waves were deemed “good fun” and will present some nice “ramps” that will enable surfers to complete aerial manoeuvres.

With the crowd gathering in anticipation, they will get to see their favourite surfing heroes busting out all their “tricks” without the confines of time limits and the standard judging system.

The Foster’s Expressions Sessions are an integral part of the tour and run over a period of an hour or more. The surfers are deemed winners of two categories – the most explosive completed manoeuvre and the best aerial – and can score up to $US2500 in prize money.

Following on from the Foster’s Expression Session will be the Kelly Slater Experiment, which will see the surfers competing in new and entirely different formats to the norm. The formats have all been devised by six-time Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour champion Slater and will include “overlapping heats” and an event he calls “Kook”. (Further details of these formats will be included in a release later today.)

Get on line now to witness all the action!

Tune into the live webcast of the Quiksilver Pro France, presented by Samsung with Evian, at and The broadcast will be in four languages – English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
