What a day and age we live in. Surfing, the very act of it, as well as the many ways to document it, are going to new places at an incredible rate. Chopper shoots, post-apocalyptic sets, wave-pools lit up by cranes, smoke machines, half-million dollar cameras. Surfing is finally catching up to hollywood in terms of production value, and more importantly, creativity. Here is another example. The Bra Boys (from notorious Sydney suburb Maroubra) recently pushed the bar a bit higher, setting up a lighting rig on the cliffs at Ours, one of the scariest slabs on earth, and having an all-night tow session during a pumping swell. This is the trailer for FIGHTING FEAR, a documentary about Mark Mathews and Richi Vaculik, which has to be one of the most fitting names for a movie i've seen, judging by the trailer.

Owen Wilson Wright has just won his first World Tour event in heroic fashion, the Quik Pro NY, beating Kelly Slater in the final in pumping surf. Owen moves into second place on the world title rankings as Kelly extends his lead to 3050 points. The final 32 have also been decided for the second half of the season.
