Here's another horrifying look at the mutant outcropping of pure evil known only as 'The Right,' hidden deep in West Oz territory. The offshore slab become known to the world when hellmen Mark Mathews and Richie Vaculik nabbed several cover shots, XXL nominations, and near drownings there a couple years back.

This footage from Laurie Towner's maiden session at The Right took place on the same day that Mark Mathews got his XXL nominated wipeout of the year, and Ryan Hipwood his near-death flogging. Hipwood posted a couple words and photos about the historic session shortly after on his blog, writing, "Lucky to be here today, was surfing a slab in the deep south coast of WA and was way too close to drowning".

"It's as good as it gets out there," said Kolohe Andino just after his pre-heat warmup session at dawn Tuesday morning. Andino, the 17-year-old local from San Clemente is one of the elite Top 32 surfers in the world who've come to surf the prime rated event.
