Organisers and competitors in the Rip Curl Pro Pipeline Masters have awoken to incredible two to three metre (six to 10 foot) and smooth conditions here on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.

Onlookers are calling it as being way better than the conditions for the Rip Curl Code STL Trials that were held in some of the best waves of the year.

There was no hesitation in pushing the green for go button today and the first heat of round two of the 11th event on the Fosters ASP Men’s World Tour will hit the water at approximately 8am local time.

With the arrival of the swell it is hoped that the winds remain favourable so that the event can be completed tomorrow.
