PWA World Tour Press Officer

Have you ever fancied travelling around the world following the World Tour and mixing with the biggest names in the sport?

Do you have good journalistic and IT skills and a good knowledge all the windsurfing disciplines? If so then the PWA may just have an opportunity for you!

The current PWA Press Officer is moving on to pastures new so we are looking for someone to fill his shoes.

The job involves:

reporting on events;

running the live ticker;

helping out with all written material created by the PWA and various other aspects of PWA business that relate to PR and media;

If you like the sound of being involved at the top level of the sport and think you can handle the work outlined above, and if you are free to travel for long periods of time and not afraid of hard work and long hours, then perhaps you could join the PWA team.

The "Seven Ghosts" is the new mysterious wave discovered in Indonesia. The Rip Curl Search team has been traveling the world looking for new surf spots and found out an incredible tidal bore that can be surfed eternally. Tom Curren, Bruno Santos, Dean Brady, Oney Anwar and Tyler Larronde witnessed this endless wave, after several months of searches. Curren believes "Seven Ghosts" is the longest wave of his life. Denzil Williams has conquered the first round of the UK National Kiteboarding Course Racing Championships, in Watergate Bay. Although wind was light, the new course boards do not require a lot of breeze to get going. On Saturday, three races were held and it was a very close battle. Positions changed widely in the top 10, except for 2008 and 2009 British champion and local Cornish chap, Denzil Williams, who took all races.

Sigve Botnen (snowboard), Bjorn Kaupang (ski) and Malin Rapp (women) have conquered the Red Bull Ragnarok 2011, held in Norway. Once again some of the best snowkiters met at Europe’s biggest mountain plateau for one of the hardest snowkite endurance competitions. The Curacao Challenge 2011 is almost hitting the waters and will be presenting the IFCA Slalom World Championship Slalom 2011 ProKids, Junior, Youth and Masters. The windsurfing event takes place between April 19th-24th. The local volunteers are working hard to build up the Surf Town in old school driftwood and bamboo. Twenty two Formula windsurfers and two Kona sailors have met for the 2011 Miami Wind and Surfers Challenge, in Florida, USA. Paulo dos Reis, world windsurfing champion, visited his North American friends and joined the races. Despite the lack of competing winds, it was possible to run two races for the Kona Class.
