SWELL FORECAST LOOKS GOOD FOR RIP CURL PRO PIPELINE MASTERS
News provided by ASP World Tour on 15 December 2005
As the flat spell continues on the North Shore of Oahu, the Rip Curl Pro Pipeline Masters has been called off for the day yet again, but a new swell is definitely on the way.
The event, the 11th on the Foster’s ASP Men’s World Tour, has been stopped now for the fifth consecutive day as organisers await a predicted increase in swell due to arrive by tomorrow.
With only two days needed to complete the event and with the waiting period for swell extending to December 20 they will wait for Pipeline to fire before competitors hit the water again.
The first two days of competition saw the Rip Curl Code STL Trials head out in what witnesses have claimed to be some of the best conditions for Pipe in years and round one of the main event followed suit with some incredible barrels.
To watch a highlights package of the first two days log on to www.ripcurl.com or www.aspwordltour.com from 8am local time.
The main event will restart from round two and organisers will once again check conditions at first light tomorrow morning. With the swell looking to begin to rise overnight it is hoped that the first heat tomorrow morning will hit the water at 8am local time.
For all the results of the Rip Curl Code STL Trials and round one plus the draw for round two, head to the websites above.
