PRAIA DA TIRIRICA, Brazil (Monday, Aug. 20, 2007) – Punchy 1- 1.5 meter waves are on offer at the picturesque beach of Praia da Tiririca this morning and organizers have elected to start Round 1 of the Billabong Girls Pro Itacaré, Brazil at 09h30.
After a four month hiatus from ASP Women’s World Tour competition, World No. 3 Sofia Mulanovich (PER), World No. 4 Samantha Cornish (AUS) and World No. 10 Melanie Bartels (HAW) will kick start Round 1, in the first heat of the day.
All six heats of Round 1 will be completed this morning with Round 2 on standby this afternoon.
The Billabong Girls Pro is Stop 3 of 7 on the ASP Women’s World Tour.
